Are your kids Powerkidz? Have they experienced the fun, creativity and school holiday highlight that fills the Brisbane Powerhouse? There are tons of performances, workshops and free activities. But as parents, we know that an event is only as good as the small details that make it easy and relaxing for carers too. So, what makes Powerkidz a winner for everyone?

Getting there

Transport is easy. There’s free parking in the Powerhouse car park, as well as in the nearby ring road of New Farm Park. Little legs can easily manage the distance from the New Farm CityCat stop along the pathway to the Powerhouse. Find transport information from Translink.

Practicalities

The Brisbane Powerhouse has baby change facilities for those baby brothers and sisters that need attention. Lifts can carry you between floors if you’ve got a stroller. All of the free activities are grouped together inside on the Turbine Platform, making it easy to keep an eye on your excited participants.

Before and after the show

To let off a little childish energy, the fabulous New Farm Park playground is just next door. Plus, you can extend the day out with a visit to the peaceful New Farm library, at the other side of the park. If you are waiting for a show to start there’s the popular free activities Crayola kidz corner, painting wall and costume corner.

Good tips for grown ups

The grown ups haven’t been forgotten at Powerkidz. Watt and Bar Alto can supply you with good quality coffee, snacks and meals for adult tastes. Thank goodness!

Please remember, Powerkidz is not a child care centre. It’s best if you stay close and on the Powerhouse site whilst your children are occupied in workshops. Children under 8 will need you to accompany them. Besides you might have fun letting your creative side loose too.

Bookings

Workshops always sell out quickly so get tickets as soon as possible. Performances will be popular too but hopefully there will be plenty of seats to the larger shows.

There are no events held on Monday 22 September except the first day of the Flipside Circus aerial 3 day workshops.
